ABILITY MARINE SERVICES. 

Is an independent marine service to the international yachting community. Services include Pre-purchase surveys, Condition surveys, Consultancy and Project supervision, Valuations and Insurance damage reporting, I.S.M auditing.

 

Based in the South of France A.M.S (Ability Marine Services.) is ideally located to be able to travel to all centres of European yachting activity, be it to Marinas or ship building/refit facilities.

Survey reports can be delivered in several different languages if required. 

 

Ability Marine Services was established by Capt. Colin Skinner who spent more than 40 years as a professional yachtsman. He holds a M.C.A. Command endorsement for yachts to 3000 GRT. Is a founder member of the P.Y.A. (Professional Yachtsman's Association) and has graduated from the International Institute of Marine Surveying (I.I.M.S.).

He is a great believer in continuous education and attends as many Industry seminars and training sessions as possible.

He is bilingual  English/French and can work in Italian and Spanish.

 

During his yachting career he has been responsible for all aspects of yacht operations including engineering, maintenance and the supervision of many international refits and six new builds projects of vessels ranging from 12 to 60 metres. This has entailed working closely with many shipyards, several Classification Societies and the M.C.A. Codes of Practice.
